Leigh is an experienced physiotherapist with over a decade of expertise in sports and musculoskeletal care. After completing his undergraduate studies in 2011, Leigh further enhanced his skills with post-graduate studies in Sports Physiotherapy at La Trobe University, graduating in 2016. Since then, he has built a reputation for delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care, particularly in the management of complex foot and ankle conditions.

In 2017, Leigh joined Foot and Ankle Rehabilitation Australia, where he collaborates closely with some of Melbourne’s top foot and ankle surgeons and sports physicians. This role has allowed him to refine his approach to assessment and treatment, focusing on the latest advancements in musculoskeletal care.

Leigh’s passion for helping individuals recover from injury and reach their full potential extends to his long-term role as the lead physiotherapist for Rowville Sports Academy, where he has managed student athletes for over 10 years. In this capacity, he also integrates strength and conditioning and designs comprehensive rehabilitation programs, making him an expert in adolescent injury management.

A strong advocate for multidisciplinary care, Leigh works closely with podiatrists, exercise physiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for his patients.

His expertise has earned him roles within elite sporting environments, including positions with Melbourne United (NBL)Hockey AustraliaHockey Victoria, and the PGA Australasia Tour. He has also provided individual care for some of Australia’s top ultra-marathon runners. Previously, he served as the head physiotherapist for Hockey Australia’s Indoor Hockey Team, including the 20152018, and 2023 World Cups.

Leigh is currently the lead physiotherapist for Hockey Club Melbourne, where he plays a pivotal role in supporting athletes competing in Australia’s national hockey competition.

In addition to his clinical practice, Leigh is committed to advancing physiotherapy through education. Since 2021, he has taught acute injury management and rehabilitation at Deakin University, mentoring the next generation of practitioners.

Leigh’s approach to physiotherapy is grounded in a deep commitment to the community he serves, evidence-based practice and a passion for helping his patients recover and thrive in their chosen sports and activities.
