Training Tips for Winter

Studies have found that many people experience decreases in exercise motivation and participation during winter!

Do you find yourself exercising less or struggling with motivation during the cooler months?

“We all lose motivation to exercise during winter when all we want to do is curl up under the covers.

But here are some tips to help you stay motivated and moving this winter from Tayla Chung – one of Rise Health Group’s Accredited Exercise physiologists.

  1. Keep your exercise fun! Whether its dancing to music or do something active while catching up with friends.
  2. Find warm but cute outfits to keep you motivated to exercise.
  3. Go to a warm pool; whether it’s for gentle movements or full lap swimming.
  4. Sign up for exercise classes! They’re usually always indoors, you don’t have to think about what you are doing, and having a membership means you are more likely to rock up.
  5. Go for a home program where you can do body weight exercises in the comfort of your warm home. Unsure of what to do? Come in to Rise and see an Exercise Physiologist.

Remember, it’s only cold at the start. Once you start moving you’ll start sweating!”
